Sunday - Jessica and Chris at Erna's Elderberry House

Jessica first told me the wedding was at Erna's Elderberry House. If you know what it is, then you must know how excited I was to shoot her wedding. It was a small intimate wedding with close friends, family, and lots of love (and tears). The food and ambiance was simply amazing. Thankfully, Jessica and Chris were as into taking photos as I was, so I took advantage of it. We traveled the grounds to find one amazing place to take photos after another. After eight days of straight shooting, I'm looking forward to taking a day off with my family!

Saturday - Jessica and James in Mariposa

I first met Jessica about six months ago when they learned that the excellent photographer they had planned on using for their wedding was moving from the area. I knew then that she was one of the most well organized brides that I had ever met, but was planning a great party of a wedding. When the day finally came, I was not disappointed. Ever seen fire dancers? I hadn't either -- now I can't wait to see them again.

Friday - Deanna and Jeff in Yosemite

Fresh back from my week of shooting in Redding, my head was swimming with new ideas and I had three weddings on one weekend. Thankfully, Deanna and Jeff were really into creating beautiful images together. The day started off cold and crisp, but it wasn't until the ceremony that snow began to streak through the sky and gave them a white wedding that they had been dreaming of. The cold weather didn't stop these two from taking advantage of the scenery of the park. Once inside, we set up to get some crazy party shots of the guests.

Models and Photographers

I spent most of last week in the Redding area shooting models with a number of other excellent photographers from around the world during a workshop. We all worked together well and bounced new idea off of each other and learned lots! Not to mention, having beautiful models and gorgeous backdrops helps too (who hasn't wanted to do a shoot in a cave?).
